Ez azt jelenti, hogy az utóbbi szónak nem ismeri a jelentését - lévén az a cél, hogy a captchát megfejtő jómunkásember ingyen leírja a jelentését nekik. Ebből következik, hogy csak az egyik szót kell helyesen beírni, a másik helyett akármit lehet. Onnan lehet megismerni, hogy melyik melyik, hogy a gép által adott szó homályosabb, mintha többször egymásra lenne írva. A másik szó lehet kínai nyelvű, képlet részlete vagy akár egy piktogram, a lényeg, hogy úgysem kell helyesen beírni.
